This is a metal band from Espoo, Finland.
There is some contention regarding the band’s genre classification, but in general the band’s musical style can be described as a cross between melodic death metal and power metal.
Their name was derived from the Lake Bodom murders.

The lyrics of Children of Bodom’s songs are written in English and are most often concerned with the subjects of death/the grim reaper, personal struggles, war and the Lake Bodom murders.
Recent albums have seen a shift to more antagonistic lyrics,with songs such as “You’re Better Off Dead” and “In Your Face” a more straight-forward heavy metal style.

The Punk Rock Movie was assembled from Super 8 camera footage shot by Don Letts, the disc jockey at The Roxy club during the early days of the UK punk rock movement, between 1977 and 1979.

The film captures the energy and vibrancy of this period, and features archive live footage of the bands The Clash, the Sex Pistols, Wayne County & the Electric Chairs, Generation X, Slaughter and the Dogs, The Slits, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Eater, Subway Sect, X-Ray Spex, Alternative TV and The Heartbreakers.

All live footage was shot at the Roxy except the Sex Pistols, which was filmed at the Screen On The Green Cinema in London on April 3, 1977 (Sid Vicious’ first concert with the band).

Of his movie Letts wrote;

Every generation needs its own soundtrack. In 1977 punk rock was it. It inspired some people to pick up guitars, I was inspired to pick up a movie camera… It was all so new, I realised it wasn’t about being just a fan, it was about getting involved… A good idea attempted is better than a bad idea perfected.

Sex Pistols are an English punk rock band that formed in London in 1975. The band originally comprised vocalist Johnny Rotten, guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock (later replaced by Sid Vicious). Although their initial career lasted only three years and produced only four singles and one studio album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols, the Sex Pistols have been described by the BBC as “the definitive English punk rock band. The Pistols are widely credited with initiating the punk movement in the United Kingdom and creating the first generation gap within rock and roll.

The Sex Pistols emerged as a response to what was perceived to be the “increasingly safe and bloated” progressive rock and manufactured pop music of the mid-1970s. The band created various controversies during their brief career which captivated Britain, but often eclipsed their music. Their shows and tours repeatedly faced difficulties from authorities, and public appearances often ended in disaster and riot. Their 1977 single, “God Save the Queen”, was widely regarded as an attack on the British monarchy and British nationalism.

Rotten left the band in January 1978, amid a turbulent tour of the United States; the remaining trio carried on for the remainder of the year with vocals provided by Jones, Edward Tudor-Pole and Ronnie Biggs but disbanded in early 1979. With Lydon, they reunited in 1996 for the “Filthy Lucre” tour and have staged subsequent reunion tours in 2002, 2003, and 2007. On 24 February 2006, the Sex Pistols were officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but they refused to attend the induction, calling the museum a “piss stain”.

His work is characterized by deeply personal lyrics, distinctive guitar work, and signature nasal tenor singing voice. Although he accompanies himself on several different instruments—including piano and harmonica—his style of hammer-on acoustic guitar and often idiosyncratic soloing on electric guitar are the linchpins of a sometimes ragged, sometimes polished, yet consistently evocative sound.

Although Young has experimented widely with differing music styles, including swing, jazz, rockabilly, blues, and electronica throughout a varied career, his best known work usually falls into either of two distinct styles: folk-esque acoustic rock as heard in songs such as “Heart of Gold” “Harvest Moon” and “Old Man” and electric-charged hard rock in songs like “Cinnamon Girl”, “Rockin’ in the Free World” and “Hey Hey, My My”.

Pink Floyd are an English rock band that earned recognition for their psychedelic rock music, and as they evolved, became widely known as pioneers of progressive rock music. Pink Floyd are known for their philosophical lyrics, classical rock compositions, sonic experimentation, innovative cover art, and elaborate live shows. One of rock music’s most successful and influential acts, the group has sold over 200 million albums worldwide,and an estimated 73.5 million albums in the United States alone.

Pink Floyd had modest success in the late 1960s as a psychedelic band led by the late Syd Barrett. Barrett’s increasingly erratic behaviour forced his colleagues to augment and eventually replace him with guitarist and singer David Gilmour. After Barrett’s departure, singer and bass player Roger Waters gradually became the band’s leader and main songwriter. This incarnation of the band recorded several elaborate concept albums, achieving worldwide success with 1973’s The Dark Side of the Moon, 1975’s Wish You Were Here, 1977’s Animals, and 1979’s The Wall, among the best-selling, most critically acclaimed, and enduringly popular albums in rock music history. In 1985, Waters declared Pink Floyd defunct, but the remaining members (now led by Gilmour) continued recording and touring under the name, enjoying great commercial success and eventually reaching a settlement with Waters.

Waters performed with the band for the first time in 24 years, on 2 July 2005 at the London Live 8 concert, playing to Pink Floyd’s biggest audience ever. On 3 February 2006, Gilmour gave an interview to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica which indicated the band would no longer tour or produce any new material,although various members still plan on producing solo or collaborative material. The possibility of an appearance similar to Live 8 has not been ruled out by either Masonor Gilmour.

Cream were a 1960s British rock band, which consisted of guitarist Eric Clapton, bassist Jack Bruce and drummer Ginger Baker. Celebrated as one of the first great power trios and supergroups of rock, their sound was characterised by a melange of blues, pop and psychedelia. Cream combined Clapton’s blues guitar playing with the airy voice and intense basslines of Jack Bruce and the jazz-influenced drumming of Ginger Baker.

Cream’s music included songs based on traditional blues such as “Crossroads” and “Spoonful”, and modern blues such as “Born Under a Bad Sign”, as well as more eccentric songs such as “Strange Brew”, “Tales of Brave Ulysses” and “Toad”. Cream’s biggest hits were “I Feel Free”, “Sunshine of Your Love”, “White Room”, “Crossroads” and “Badge”.

Cream, together with The Who, made a significant impact upon the popular music of the time providing a heavy yet technically proficient musical theme that foreshadowed the emergence of bands like Led Zeppelin in the late 1960s and Rush in the 1970s. The band’s live performances influenced progressive rock acts and other jam bands, including the Grateful Dead, Phish, and even Black Sabbath.

Queen are an English rock band formed by Brian May, Freddie Mercury, and Roger Taylor in London, England in 1970 from the remains of Smile, with John Deacon completing the lineup the following year.
